I'm being asked to sign over the deed to our property as a part of the settlement agreement. Can I be forced to sign.

No. An "agreement" means both parties have agreed to all of terms. If your spouse makes a proposal for the division of the marital assets which you think is fair, and which results in him/her getting title to the property, then you would need to sign the property over as part of the deal.
