old electric covered up
is there any recourse? We bought a old house the electrical wireing behind the walls is outdated, but new wireing has been attached to the old nob and tube wiring so all that can be seen was new wiring. Upgrades had been done prior to buying the home however most of the electric behind the walls can still be dangerous, upgrades include adding new outlets, celing fans, updated braker box.

Unless the old wiring is defective in some way and that information, known to the sellers, was concealed by them, you have no recourse. It shouldn't be surprising that old houses contain old wiring that doesn't meet current code standards. If you had a home inspection prior to finalizing the contract, your inspector ought to pointed that likelihood out to you even if you might not have thought of it. The seller was required to use code standard wiring when they did their upgrades, but apparently weren't required to rewire from scratch. Had you inquired about this and received incorrect information, or if their sale disclosures are wrong, you might have a basis for a claim.
