Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Maryland
I have had my house foreclosed upon and I claimed chapter 7 bankruptcy as of last December. As a result the foreclosure has been stopped. I owe taxes on my property for the last two and a half years. Do I owe these debts or am I protected under bankruptcy law?

You must pay your property tax regardless of the bankruptcy. Consult a bankruptcy lawyer for more details.

Bankruptcy typically DELAYS but does not permanently stop foreclosure. The issue of whether you OWE is different from the issue of whether the creditor can still get to the house or force a sale if a lien remains unpaid. If you filed with a bankruptcy attorney you should ask that person for the status of your case as well as an idea of what to expect.
