Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Maryland

My husband is a naturalized citizen and still owns family land in the Philippines. He is considering selling the land and we're trying to figure out the proper steps to take in order to do that: what paperwork needs to be filled out, where things need to be sent, etc. We aren't able to travel back so we would need to do this through the mail and such.

Thank you.

For property in Maryland, such transactions are easily handled by a Power of Attorney granting someone living here the authority to consummate a sale and sign all the necessary documents. However, the law varies from jurisdiction to jurisdiction - even though you live in Maryland, Filipino law will govern and you should consult with a Filipino attorney in the area where the property is located.
