Re: insurance remodel job
If he was a MD licensed contractor, his license # should appear on his estimate or invoice. That entitles you to file a complaint with the Maryland Home Improvement Commission. They will investigate, including an inspection of the job, and if they feel your complaint has merit, they will go after the contractor on your behalf. Your other option is to hire another contractor to make the job right and then sue the first contractor for your additional cost. But you will need the second contractor, or someone with expertise in this kind of project to back you up in court.
