Living in a Foreclosed Home and Landlord Instructed me to Stay

Hello.

I am currently living in a house that went into foreclosure about 6 months ago. Four of my friends had signed a lease for this house and I moved in temporarily to decide if I wanted to make Baltimore my permanent residence. The lease was up in January of this year and now I am the only person left. Everyone else decided to leave before facing eviction. The landlord has stopped by once and said I should just stay until the bank notifies me. He said I should save money for a few months and the bank will have to notify me that it is time to go. I always thought there was a chance that I could come home and the locks would be changed with my things in the street.

I am still here because I'd like to save a bit more money if possible and I thought it would be more beneficial to have someone living here (using the utilities, keeping the place in good condition, etc.) rather than leave the place abandoned. I pay all of the utilities.

My question is what will be the process when it comes time for the bank to notify me? Will they simply give me 10-30 days to vacate? Am I facing a situation that could put me in court?

Please let me know what I should do from a legal perspective. Thank you for your time.

If there has already been a foreclosure sale, most likely the lender was the "buyer" at the sale. So now the lender/buyer will be looking to resell the property to an end user. That may take some time.

At some point, the lender will want the property vacated, or if it's sold, probably a purchaser or a realtor will notify you to vacate. Or you will receive a court notice of eviction proceedings, probably posted on the door by a sheriff. That would be a good time to start moving out.
