Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Maryland

How long is the "Maryland exclusive right to represent buyer agreement" in force? We cancelled a contract in Aug 2009. The owner of the same home contacted us and we now have a new "handshake" agreent for the same property ad the cancelled contract (9 months after cancellation).

Do we have any legal obligation to the broker or agent? Paragraphs 7 and 8 are very confusing.

Thank you

It depends on what your contract states. If you canceled the contract 9 months ago, it is likely no longer in force. Consult with an attorney and have him or her review the contract for you. Regards,
