Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Maryland

If your neighborhood has a hoa by law can they make you pay hoa fees if you do not sign any papers agreeing to pay them.i was told if i dont pay the fees and go to count i will loses and have to pay fees plue count fees is it true.

If your property is within the hoa borders you are required to pay the dues, which go to maintain common areas. When you bought the property you signed a document for your lender in which you agreed to adhere to all hoa rules and bylaws, one of which is to pay the fees. If you don't the hoa will place a lien on your property.
