Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Maryland

Neighborhood Video Surveillance

I am a mother of three minor children, and my neighbor recently installed video cameras on the edge of her home to tape the children playing in the common area. Can she legally tape my children and keep this video if they are not on her property? My neighbors and myself are concerned regarding this surveillance.

Re: Neighborhood Video Surveillance

The law does not prohibit this activity, as long as the purpose is not to promote some prurient interest. If the neighbor were filming inside your residence, that would be illegal.
