Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Maryland
Neighbor's construction project unending
Over 5 months ago my next-door neighbor approached me about some repair work she needed on her house. She was going to have some basement walls excavated/ rebuilt and her roof replaced. She said her crews would need to briefly use our clay driveway during the work. I was informed of this as I was leaving the house. The work would start the next day. The short notice left me feeling blindsided. Nevertheless, what was I going to say? ''No, you can't repair your house.'' Therefore, I told her no problem, thinking this would be a short-term inconvenience.
Since mid-October, the construction crews have parked in my driveway whenever they wish, ripped it up, leaving mounds of dirt behind along with equipment, debris and an unfinished project. My neighbor conveniently manages to make herself scarce when we are home and not once apologized that the work has taken so long. Nor have there been any offers to put our driveway back the way it was.
We want our driveway put back to its original condition. Do we have any recourse to get her to complete the work? Can we back charge her for any work we may do to get the driveway repaired?
By the way, the neighbor is an attorney.

There are several methods to seek a remedy. Since your neighbor is attorney it is recommended that you obtain counsel.
There is an obligation to correct the waste of your property.
