Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Maryland

Neighbor's Tree

My neighbor's tree is such a nuisance. The branches are hanging over to the middle of my yard. When the leaves fall,it clogs my sump pump causing my basement to flood.I have asked her about trimming it but she hasn't made any attempt. What can I do??

Re: Neighbor's Tree

Advise your neighbor in writing that you intend to cut her tree back to the property line if she doesn't take care of this on her own within a specified period of time. Tell her you will also hold her financially responsible for the cost of doing so. You have a right to protect your property.
