Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Maryland

co owner home

my brother and i are co-owners on the property that he has no more interest in, after moving out over 3 years and has since married. we talked about having his name removed from the deed because of some liens that have been put on the property. my question is, if we take my brother off of the deed, will that release the lien portion for him off of the house that i have been financially paying since then?

Re: co owner home

Sorry-you can't get out from under the liens by taking your brother's name off the deed. If that were possible, the filing of a lien would be essentially meaningless. However, it will prevent any future liens from attaching to the property.
