All estates must post a legal notice in a newspaper of general circulation soon after it is opened. The purpose of the ad is to notify creditors and potential heirs of their right to file claims against the estate. However, for your purpose, you could try to contact the personal representative (executor) or the attorney for the estate and express your interest in acquiring real estate if they intend to sell any in the estate. Of course, you must understand that the property must be sold for a realistic price or the sale will not be approved by the register of wills.
