property taxes after house is sold

my mother sold her house over a year ago. the buyer did not put the house in his name. is she responsible for the property and the property taxes ? she went through closing and settlement and has the paperwork from that.

Your mother is not responsible, and if the buyer fails to record his deed he does so at his peril. He could lose the house through a tax sale. If your mother doesn't have a copy of the deed she signed, she should contact the settlement firm and ask them to send her a copy.
