If im trying to prove onwership of an item but I can't find receipt or record of it, what other way can I prove my" friend" sold my expensive guitar in court?

Most guitars have serial numbers etched in them. Did you purchase the guitar new and register it? If so, you can prove, at the least, that your were the original owner. Do you know who the guitar was sold to? There's not a whole lot you can do.
