Since the car was purchased during the marriage and the payments are being made from marital funds (your earnings) under MD law it's marital property. This doesn't mean he's automatically entitled to half its value, but if you were fighting over property in divorce court, it would be part of the court's consideration. By the way, if he has signature power over the bank account, you would be well advised to transfer those funds to a sole account unless you trust him not to tap into it.
