Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Maryland
I recently separated from a 4 yr relationship. My home is solely in my name name and had been for 5 years prior to our relationship. Although the individual has vacated the property he refuses to remove all of his belongings. Some furniture, clothing, electronics etc. At what point can I consider them to be abandoned? He has been gone since 11/1? He did not pay rent and we did not have any sort of landlord/tenant contract.

I suggest you contact him in writing and give him a deadline for removing his property, after which you will treat the property as abandoned and dispose of it accordingly. There is no magic deadline; each case depends on its specific facts.
