Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Maryland

Removing my name from house deed

My mother qualified for a loan to pirchase her house using me as a co-signer. How do I go about removing my name from her mortgage, so that I can purchase my own home?

Your mother will have to re-finance the loan in her name only. You may be able to get your mother's mortage company to release you from the mortage, but that is not likely unless your mother's financial position has improved or that is a lot of equity in the property.
