What is it exactly that they want to sue you for? What were the terms of the sale of your rental property? Did you give the buyer a warranty deed or quitclaim deed? If you want to provide more information, you may receive a more specific answer. Otherwise, consider consulting with a Maryland real estate attorney about the specifics of the threatened lawsuit and your options. It may be that a stern letter from an attorney on law firm letterhead will be enough to scare off the buyer. If not, and the buyer files a lawsuit against you, you will have to pony up quickly and find a litigator to defend you.

Best of luck.******The above is for informational purposes only and does not create an attorney-client privilege.*******
