Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Maryland
Stop Foreclosure
I have an upcoming Public auction date for 7/27. It requires that I come up with $15k, I only have half of the money. Will the judge give me a week to come up with the rest. A friend of mine told me her state has redemption rights, do I have any? What should I do? I already filed bankruptcy 2 years ago to stop a foreclosure then. I don't want to lose my house.

Re: Stop Foreclosure
In MD, there are no redemption rights on mortgage foreclosures, and the judge will not just give you more time. If you need to stop the foreclosure, you can file bankruptcy. If you have a pending case and relief from the stay has been granted, or your case was dismissed and is subject to a refiling bar, perhaps there is a co-owner who can file to stop the foreclosure. But you have to act immediately, as the bankruptcy would have to be filed before the time of the foreclosure.
