We have a time share and don't want it anymore. Now a lien has been placed. Can't we just give it back?

No, not unless the other party wants it back and agrees to release the lien. There is a limited right to cancel a timeshare immediately after purchase. Otherwise you can ask for the lienholder to accept a deed in lieu of foreclosure, but this is strictly voluntary.
