Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Maryland

Utlity Easement

Verizon has marked areas of my lawn (near the property line) where they are going to install fiber optic wire for my neighbor. Can I stop Verizon's destruction of my property?

Verizon or its predecessor (C&P) probably has an easement to run lines in the marked areas. To confirm this, you should check your title insurance policy, which you should have received soon after you bought the property from the title attorney. If you don't see any reference to an easement or right of way, you should contact Verizon about this.
