Interest in Vehicle After Death

If her name is not on the title then she will not acquire an interest unless you provide for such in your last will and testament. Should any amount be owed for a loan this will be reduced from your interest upon your death.

Retitling is required where a vehicle is owned outright or may be acquired after death of the original title holder. An interest in and an ability to assume an automobile through proper insurance is ordinarily required.

Where you have an interest that you want to pass with an automobile or other assets concerning your future estate, contact me for preparation of appropriate documents.

Re: vehicle

Not necessarily. It would become part of your estate. If you have a Last Will and Testament, what you put in that would determine who gets the vehicle. If you die without a Will, MD law would determine it, and it would depend on whether you have children and if you're still married, among other things.
