Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Maryland

Will new property owners have owners have to honer the Timber contract I have wi

I have a timber contract for the next 18 months with an option to renew at end of the contract. The elderly family that owns the property have decided to sell the property. Being a small business owner the asking price of 5.5 million dollars is out of the question for me. A large oil company has decided to purchase the property. My question is this, will the new owners have to honer the contract I have with the previous owners? And if they do agree to acknowledge my contract can they change their minds after closing the sale and obtain some kind of court order to prevent me from logging the property until an agreement is reached or the case goes to court ? Which would in all honesty bankrupt my company unless it was settled within a month or so. In my world no logging means no payments on equipment etc. If they choose to challenge the contract how long can they drag this out? And if it was possible for me to wait for the court to decide would I in reality stand a chance against big business, their attorneys, and endless capital? Thank-you for allowing me to seek your expert opinion in this matter.

Unless your contract has a provision that voids it upon sale of the property, it will continue in force notwithstanding the sale of the property.
