Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Maryland

What is a Writ of Replevin in the state of MD?

How many days to answer a Writ of Replevin, Repossession of property . The property was returned already. What are the consequences? What will it cost to defend? May I challenge it myself, given the circumstances. If a Writ was serves previously, but not received, shouldn't it have been mailed certified or served by an official agent?

Please advise me. Thank you for your time and expert assistance.

Re: What is a Writ of Replevin in the state of MD?

If the writ was filed in the District Court of Maryland, you have 15 days to send in your notice of intention to defend, which is attached to the complaint. Just follow the instructions on the form.

If it was filed in the Circuit Court, you have 30 days to answer.

The papers should be served by certifed mail or a process server if you have not previously been served.

You could represent yourself, especially if you've already returned the property, although it seems strange that the plaintiff would be pursuing the action if they already have the property.
