Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Maryland

In Writing/ 60 day policy

IN Dec. I renewed my lease for another year ,which was up on April 1st. Then on or about the 8th of January I got a opportunity to buy a home. So I took the right steps in letting my Apartment complex know. The letter that I wrote to them was shy there 60 day policy. They don't give any leadway on the 60 days. I've read my lease an it states at least 60 days. I was under 6 days shy of the 60 days. They tell me that to get out of my lease i owe them 2 mths rent or I can pay month to month until they rent my apartment. The only thing I want to know is there anyway of getting around there 60 day policy?

The lease is the lease. Fax your lease to me at (410) 799-9002 and indicate in a cover letter the exact provision you are questioning. A small claim filed for recovery may also be recommended. Contact an attorney as appeals are usaully not cost justified.
