Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Maryland
Zoning or permits needed to keep trailers, rvs
We live in an older neighborhood in Parkville, with small backyards. We have recently developed a problem with our next door neighbor. He has brought an old, dirty, rusty trailer (RV type) into his yard. We do not have a homeowners association, and now wish we did. Is there any law, zoning regulation or permit that we could look to to make him move this eyesore? Are there any insurance/or MVA requirements? Thank you for your consideration.

If you live within the corporate city limits or in the county, the municipal governments have regulations addressing this sort of thing and the county usually enforces. You need to call the county and request they send a housing inspector and cite the person for having a public nuisance. Call for more info. if you'd like. Joe Trevino, 1800-924-6217(in Md)

Local ordinances can be effected by contacting the county offices and having
an inspector address the matter. Depending on the location of the RV and easements, the RV may
be considered to sit on a public road. If this is the case, then the vehicle must be registered with MVA
and tagged, in order for this to occur, the vehicle must be insured. Consider contacting the local county office of planning and zoning to inquire further.
