Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Maryland
Prejudice, insults, ridicule of female employees
I recently sent an e-mail that was sarcasticto a male co-worker, pointing out his lack of procedure (I am in a supervisory position, but not of him). I did not use obscene language or call names and did not intend it to be mean. He wrote back that it was unprofessional and childish and insulting, and that no one in my company likes to work with me and this proved it. He copied my boss. I confronted him, apologgized, and asked for details so I could change behavior of which I was not aware. He could not give me any specifics about who didn't like me. Who is right or wrong? And can I be fired?

Your question does not provide enough detail for any definitive response. However, in general it is wise to remember that email (and postings on internet web sites) are almost never private or anonymous. The "e-world" is rife with disputes and litigation evolving from, and revolving around, email messages and internet postings. If you are concerned about your supervisory position, or if you employment is called into question, please feel free to call me directly for assistance.
