Legal Question in Social Security Law in Maryland
I have a question for my daughter. She is 21 and had not had contact with her father in about 10 years He passed away about 1 year ago and never married or had other children. Is my daughter eligable for any SS he may have been entitled to?

You don't say if he was receiving a benefit before he died. His right to benefits terminates on his death.
Children who are minors (under age 18) may be eligible for a survivor's benefits. Certain adult children who are disabled may also be eligible.

If your daughter is found to be disabled before age 22 then she can collect on her late father's benefits.
