Legal Question in Traffic Law in Maryland

My aunt (who lives in Asia) came to visit my family last month in the US. She has an international license so she drove my car around while she was here. She got a speeding ticket in Maryland for almost $500 2 days before she went back to Asia. Does she have to pay (she's not in US anymore)? If she doesn't pay, will she be allowed to drive in the US in the future when she comes to visit again?

Thank you in advance.

Her privilege to drive in Maryland will be suspended if she does not pay the ticket and does not appear in Court to defend the charge. Thus, when she gets back, she will be suspended and unable to drive in Maryland until she pays. She will also be unable to get a drivers' license in any other State until she pays. With a ticket of that amount she should consider appearing in Court on the trial date, because that sounds like a 5 point ticket. She could also get a lawyer to appear on her behalf. This may help because the points could be reduced or removed altogether, and the fine could be reduced.
