Legal Question in Traffic Law in Maryland
driver's liscense suspension due to alcohol addiction
I just received notice that my liscense is suspended for 6 months because I have an alcohol/substance abuse problem. I was accused tried(SP?) and convicted(without my knowledge) for a crime that I ''may'' commit in the future. I am required to complete treatment and attend AA/NA meetings and have my doctor submit certain forms. I do have a problem and have completed a 28 day inpatient program as well as meeting attendance. I have never had a DUI or DWI. I do not have an violations on my driving record and have only had a fender bender in my driveway. How is this legal and what can I do about it? thank you.

Re: driver's liscense suspension due to alcohol addiction
Generally you cannot be suspended without a hearing at the Motor Vehicle Administration. You also have a limited time to request a hearing, so you should move quickly.
I would like to get some more information from you, so if you would send me a more detailed account of dates these things occurred, and what exactly happened, this would be helpful. My email is listed below.
Furthermore, you should be represented by a lawyer at such a hearing, and my firm specializes in these cases and we handle them for very reasonable fees, should you decide to hire an attorney.
