You need to file a Motion for Continuance. He shoots your local District Court office and see the clerk -- they have blank Motion forms that you can fill in. Make sure that you give the court a legitimate reason why he will not be able to attend the trial. Also, supply copies of any documentation that may support your need for continuance.
