Legal Question in Traffic Law in Maryland
failure to pay speeding ticket
My boyfriend got a couple of speeding tickets which he never paid. Because he never paid, the fines doubled every month. They are now over $2,000. He finally got a letter to appear in court regarding the unpaid tickets. What exactly should he expect? Does he need a lawyer? Should he start saving up now to try and pay off the fine? Or will the judge most likely reduce the fine? Is there any possiblility of going to jail, if so for how long?

Re: failure to pay speeding ticket
With $2,000 in pending finds, your boyfriend should consult with a lawyer, such as myself, who can go to trial with him to advocate for a reduction in finds.
