Legal Question in Traffic Law in Maryland
Hit and Run
I had hit a an attended car and I moved away from the place of accident after staying there for some time . I failed to inform the cops. I got a ticket for failing to inform the cops or the owner about hitting the other car. The damage to the other car was really minor. I need to know if the charge and the ticket can be waived if the car owner whose car I hit drops the charges against me.

Re: Hit and Run
Not necessarily. Everyone will have to go to court and it will be up to the State's Attorney whether the case will be prosecuted. This charge has a potential jail penalty and a lot of points on your drivers' license, so definitely get a lawyer!
