The max penalty is 1 year jail, $1000 fine, and 12 points on your license. Consider getting a lawyer to make sure none of that happens.

The fine for drive while uninsured is hefty. This is a difficult case for the State [Officer] to prove as the officer must have documentation with them in court to prove you were not insured at the time of being pulled over. Many times, the officer does not have this - or the correct paperwork. This is definitely a case that you would want to take the court. Make sure you check with the MVA, as they may have also fined you administratively. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.
