Points for Traffic Tickets

In Early January, I received two traffic tickets during the same stop, $75 each. The real problem is that the officer said that each would count as 1 point on my License.

1) Failing to stay right of the median (passing in the median) 2) Tailgating. Now, I am guilty of the 1st offense. THe car ahead was doing about 15mph, so I used the median to pass. But, I fail to see how I could've--name removed--''tailgating'', if I could still read the vehicles rear plate, and see the rear bumper at all times, until I passed via the median.

Additionally, this Officer, and I have met before, when he stopped my wife and I, one Sunday morning, on the way to church. The street where he stopped us (the same in both stops) is close to a night club. He was most irritated when I objected to his stop, telling him that all the clubbers were long gone, and that the only folk coming through now were on their way to church. He basically told me to shut up, which I took, since he didn't give my a speeding ticket (50mph in 35mph zone), but only fined her $35 for not having her license.

ANY advice will be greatly appreciated!

I would avoid the officer since he apparently patrols the area regularly. Your having prior words with the officer certainly does not work to your advantage.

The officer may be newly hired or simply frustrated with his job. Moreover, you recognize that points on your record may increase your insurance premiums. You have several options and should contact an attorney for representation. (410) 750-2567
