Legal Question in Traffic Law in Maryland
Pulled Over
I was driving home the other night about 1:30 am. I was going 53 in a 55. I noticed an officer maneuver behind me, about two miles later on went his lights. I asked why he pulled me over and he said expired registration from not having auto emmisions tested. There were no expired stickers etc. Can he just drive around running peoples info?

Yes, because it is not an obtrusive search. If he ran the tags and there was no suspension, nothing would happen, you were not detained, etc.
