Legal Question in Traffic Law in Maryland

running stop sign caused accident

i ran a stop sign at a 4 way intersection in an unfamiliar area and was traveling speed limit about 30 mph and hit someone on the rear bumper sending them spinning. Nobody is really hurt except one girl in the other car says her head hurts because she hit the window. She leaves in an ambulance just for precaution. Their car in not drivable , but mine is. I am issued two tickets. What happens from here? i just turned 18 and prior to this no accidents or tickets.

After you receive the tickets, you can pay them out, and not go to trial, or do nothing and a trial date will be set. If you pay out the tickets, it is a guilty finding and points will appear on your license, as well as possibly increase your insurance. The money spend on a lawyer, in many cases, is far less than the above, and he may be able to keep the points off your record.
