Legal Question in Traffic Law in Maryland
Seat Belt Law
I was pulled over today and fined for not wearing a seat belt. I am an avid opposer of submitting to any restrictions in what I believe to be is personal property. (I own my car, it is actually paid for). I want to find out if there is any specific document stating that risks that I take while residing in my own property are mine to take, and that no one else can pose restrictions upon those risks.
Thank you,
John

Re: Seat Belt Law
I agree with you that the government should not be able to impose such restrictions, any auch argument so far has not been successful. For seatbelt violations specifically, it is seen as as a safety issue in which the government can regulate.
