Legal Question in Traffic Law in Maryland

Speed greater than resonable

I was recently given a ticket (on my street bike) for speed greater than reasonable, which I feel, was unjustified. I was wondering if you could tell me the criteria an officer must use for giving this ticket or what if any proof they must have. The officer was on a pedal bike in a parking lot at the university I attend, said he heard the bike and turned around just in time to see me 'zip' bye. He then called ahead to another office and told him to pull me over. It was the first week of classes and it turns out the posted speed limit changed on campus this year from 25 to 15 mph. I would really like to beat this ticket in court because I am sick of being harassed on my street bike.

Re: Speed greater than resonable

Speed greater than reasonable does not mean that you were exceeding the speed limit, but that under the conditions in which you were riding, your speed was a hazard to yourself, others, or property. For the best chance of "beating" the ticket, contact an attorney.
