Legal Question in Traffic Law in Maryland

Speeding Ticket in Alaska - Live in Maryland

2 questions

1. Does Alaska share speeding ticket info with Maryland?

2. The ''points'' issued for speeding tickets are different in Alaska than they are in Maryland. If the info is shared with Maryland, will the points assessed to my record be determined by Alaska (where I was visiting) or Maryland (where I live and have my driver's license from)?

Thanks!

Re: Speeding Ticket in Alaska - Live in Maryland

most states belong to the interstate compact regarding driver licensing, and as far as I know, alaska included. if the conviction transfers, md will assess points determined by what that charge would give you in md points. i.e. speeding 9 over limit is 1 pt. in md, even if ak assesses 3 pts, you will only get 1 pt.
