Legal Question in Traffic Law in Maryland
Worth going to court?
I live at a very busy intersection with no signal light where I have to cross 3 lanes of traffic to get to the direction I need to go. Long story short, I was in an accident where I ended up being rear ended as I got into the lane I needed. I was found to be at fault because the police report said it was an illegal lane change which I disagree with. My insurance deductible is $2000. I was told I could dispute the matter in court but there are 3 other witnesses to the accident. Should I take the matter to court or try to settle with either the insurance company or the other drivers?

Re: Worth going to court?
Yes, It is worth going to court. Your traffic citation has nothing to do with the insurance company. One is criminal (traffic citation) and the other civil (insurance company). The traffic ticket is a 3 point violation on your driving record.
