How to write an extension letter to Court

Hello, my name is--name removed--and I would like some advice about extension letters. I have 2 tickets for traffic violation and I am going to court, but I have not found an affordable lawyer yet, I going to court alone, and I would like to request an extension of time to the Court, but I don't know how to write it.
