I would like to know what the cost and involvement is to

change my legal name to another?

Filing fees of the Circuit Court, about $40, and publication in a local newspaper, about $25. The reason for the change must be one that is legally recognized. If filed properly and there is no person taking exception, such a request is usually honored. Of course there are other costs such as, where applicable, getting a new license from MVA, changing account names with banks, etc. Consult with an attorney should you need assistance. (410) 799-9002
