Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Maryland
When my Dad dies in Maryland he will only have about 50,000 to distribute to his children evenly. My Mom is dead. He has a will and I am the POA. Do I need to consult with a lawyer?

IF POA is power of attorney, the power of attorney dies with your father.
If he designated you as a personal representative to administer his estate, you don't need to consult a lawyer unless he is on his death bed or after he dies. Indeed, if he is healthy, he can change his will at anytime before he dies. In fact, some people have change their wills right before they die.
Nevertheless, it is good you're preparing ahead. A good place to start is the Maryland Register of Wills website. It has good information about your rights and responsibilities and how to probate a will. The website is registers.maryland.gov
