Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Maryland
Hi. I am currently experiencing potentially debilitating health problems that I cannot afford to treat. I have pets, and I fear that I will need to be hospitalized in the future, or will become incapacitated. If that happens, what kind of document do I need to appoint guardians and allot money for their care? A will or a trust? Any information would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

A will can describe where you want pets to go and can allocate funds for their care. A pet will not have a "guardian" per se but a will can appoint a Trustee to dole out funds or can simply give the funds to whomever will be providing for the care.
