Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Maryland
The father of my 20 year old son made a will before my son was born and never changed it. The benficiary is his father. Does my son have any legal rights to any of his benefits, property, etc.? My sons father recently committed suicide, hence my question.

The law in this state says that if someone BOTH marries and has a child, an older, prior will is invalid by operation of law. However a parent may "disinherit" their child.
A child may have standing to raise claims but these situations are very fact specific. Your son may want to seek legal counsel, including reviewing the purported last will & testament.
