Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Maryland

Becoming homeless

I have been living in my grandfather's house with him for about 15 years now. Two years ago he died and left his entire estate to be divided between my mother and my uncle. Once I leave for college, which is this fall, my uncle has made clear that he intends to have our house sold and ''collect what's his.'' I want to know if there is anything my mother can do to stop him from forcing us onto the streets. We have personal friends of my grandfather that could testify that he was planning on redrafting the will to exclude my uncle, but he ran out of time. Also, in case it matters, my uncle has never spent a dime up keeping the house over the years as we have.

Re: Becoming homeless

You do not indicate who is the executor of your grandfather's property. The power of the fiduciary of the property is at issue. You should consult an attorney and have the will reviewed. Contact me should you desire further assistance. (410) 799-9002
