Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Maryland

My Moms estate

In April 5 1999, my mother, carried a mortgage on a property located in Baltimore city, died suddenly leaving myself power of attorney and my sister and I as personal representatives in her will.

In January 2000, I received a letter from an attorney representing the Ocwen mortgage company informing me that the loan had been re-assigned to that company and they were considering foreclosing on the property because the loan was currently in default. I then contacted an Ocwen company representative and we decided to do a Lieu of Deed on the property. Then I informed the attorney of this decision and considered the matter resolved.

In October 2005, I received a copy of a Code Violation letter for the property which was issued to my decease mother and dated January of 2002. My sister called the telephone number given in the letter and spoke with a Mr. Jason White who informed her that everything was taken care of and that the letter had probably been sitting on someone’s desk.

In August of 2007 another Code Violation letter, was sent to my sister and me.

Is there anything legal that can be done to us? What should we do?

Sincerely,

Re: My Moms estate

Directly address the code violation by providing the city proof that the violation does not exist or has already been cured.
