Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Maryland

Recently I had a brother-in-law pass away without a will. He had one brother living. Is he and his nieces and nephews the heir of my brother-in-law's estate. There are five surviving sisters in his deceased wife's family.

If no will exists and no spouse, parent, child or grandchild survives, the brothers and sisters divide the net estate equally. The nieces/nephews of deceased siblings get their parent's share.

The former spouse's siblings would not come into the picture.
